The quest "We Will All Go Together" in Fallout: New Vegas is one of the most memorable side missions found within the irradiated ruins of Camp Searchlight. Players are tasked with helping First Sergeant Astor recover dogtags from former NCR soldiers who were turned into ghoul troopers following a dirty bomb attack. Navigating this radiation-choked town requires preparation, strategy, and careful exploration to locate every required item.
Starting the Quest at Camp Searchlight
To initiate the mission, the Courier must travel to Camp Searchlight and speak with First Sergeant Astor, who patrols near the town's perimeter. Astor asks you to bring back ten irradiated NCR dogtags from his former comrades to ensure they receive proper recognition. Because the town is heavily irradiated, bringing plenty of Rad-X and RadAway is essential before venturing into the interior.
Locating the Ten Irradiated Dogtags
Nine of the dogtags are held by feral trooper ghouls roaming the streets and buildings of Camp Searchlight. Players can eliminate these hostile ghouls or use pickpocketing to retrieve the tags. The tenth dogtag belongs to Private Edwards, a non-feral ghoul hiding inside a barricaded house who can be reasoned with using Speech skill checks or strength options.
Resolving Private Edwards' Fate
Interacting with Private Edwards provides multiple moral paths for completing the objective. You can convince him to surrender his dogtag peacefully, steal it, or attempt to integrate him safely back into an NCR outpost. Helping Edwards escape his isolation adds depth to the storyline while fulfilling the requirements given by Sergeant Astor.
Quest Rewards and Common Bugs
Upon returning all ten dogtags to Sergeant Astor, players receive bottle caps, experience points, and a Service Rifle for their efforts. However, players should watch out for pathing glitches where feral ghouls wander far outside town boundaries. Taking time to search nearby structures ensures that no target is missed during your search.
